The entire procedure requires only a localized anesthetic for an alert and safe condition throughout the completion of the implant procedure.

2. Follicle selection:
a. Hair should be shaved short in the area of the intended donor site.
b. At least 1 centimeter of hair-length should be kept so as to ensure concealment of the donor site.
c. Healthy follicles should be selected from the donor site.
d. Adhering to the natural direction of the hair shaft the physician to use a 0.08cm punch to extract the hair.

3. Hair follicle separation and cultivation:
a. Extracted hair follicles to be arranged in allocated areas according to the number of roots contained, e.g., one transplant of 1 root follicle, 1 transplant of 2 root follicles, 1 transplant of 3 root follicles and so on.
b. Follicles in the container to be examined; those follicles without hair to be picked out; low temperature of the follicles to be maintained throughout the entire process; sterile cultivation container to be used.

4. Implanter Pen:
Select implanter pen appropriate to the transplant:
Implanter pen of 0.08cm suitable to implant 1 transplant with a single root follicle.
Implanter pen of 0.10cm suitable to implant 1 transplant with a double root follicle.
Implanter pen of 0.13cm suitable to implant 1 transplant with a triple root follicle.
Using forceps lightly grasp the hair shaft and place it into the of the implanter needle.

5. Follicle implantation:
Following the angle of natural hair fall using the implanter pen directly implant into the scalp, lightly press the implanter pen, the head of the pen will effortlessly expel its contents.

6. Dressing the donation site:
Apply ointment and dress the wound then turn over and apply pressure to stop bleeding.

Postoperative Hygiene:
1. Avoid the use of aspirin (blood-thinners); stop use for a minimum of 1 week.
2. For oral hair-growth medications it is not necessary to stop use neither before nor after the procedure.
3. Do not take a shower, hot-spring bath, go swimming or any other activity that could cause infection of the wound.

On the day of the completed procedure:
1. Sleep lying down with head resting on a pillow at a 450 angle; apply pressure to the wound to reduce bleeding.
2. A feeling of swelling or edema to the face or eyelids is due to the injection of local anesthesia. Ice can be applied. Dissipation will occur in about 3 to 5 days through absorption and metabolism.
3. Oral medication to be continued for 7 days.

The first week after the procedure:
1. From day 1 to 7 post operation visit the clinic daily to change the dressing and medication; during the fist 6 days do not change the dressing on one's own so as to avoid upsetting the implanted follicles.

2. After washing use a clean towel to dry by pressing and then use cold air to blow-dry - do NOT use hot air. Use a wide-toothed comb to comb in the direction of natural hair fall.
3. Hair must be blown dry after each washing; do not allow the wound to remain in a wet state.
4. Numbness of the donor site wound following hair washing is a normal phenomenon. The recuperative condition depends upon the individual's speed of local nerve growth and recovery capability, usually lasting from 6-12 months.
5. The implant wound will produce scabbing; do not pick at them; they will naturally fall off in 2 to 3 weeks.
6. External hair-growth spray can be used (must NOT contain alcohol).
7. Hair loss phenomenon around the donor-site area. Hair loss as part of the telogen (follicle resting) phase hair will regrow after about 3 to 5 weeks.
